WHAT'S INSIDE.

Every ingredient has a job.

This is where we go deeper. Every ingredient in the FIX formulas, what it is doing there, and which product you will find it in.

What does it do?

Pea albumin protein

INCI · Pisum sativum albumin

Pea albumin protein, fractionated from Pisum sativum, the garden pea. It is in all three formulas.

It is not the only ingredient doing work in the formulas, and we do not pretend that it is. Good formulas are built from ingredients working together for a reason.

* Refill pods carry the same formula as the cream in the vessel they fit, so their ingredients are those of the corresponding cream.

A FORMULA IS A SYSTEM.

No single ingredient produces the experience of a cream. What a material does depends on what it is with, how much of it there is, and what the formula is asking of it.

01
Ingredients Named materials, each with a role.
02
Formulation Proportion, order and base: where the decisions live.
03
Product A cleanser, a light cream, a richer one.
04
Ritual Two pumps, twice a day. Where it all resolves.

KNOW WHAT'S INSIDE.

We do not describe ingredients as clean, toxic or chemical-free. Every material in a cream is a chemical; what matters is what it is doing and how much of it is there.

LET'S CLEAR A FEW THINGS UP.

01 Natural is not a grade

Plant-derived and synthesised materials are both used in cosmetics. Origin does not tell you how well something performs, or how gentle it is.

02 Function depends on formulation

The same material behaves differently at a different concentration, or in a different base. An ingredient name alone does not predict a result.

03 Long lists are not a warning

INCI names are a standardised naming system, not a hazard rating. An unfamiliar word is usually just the formal name for something ordinary.

04 More is not better

A short list can be a decision rather than an omission. Ours is short on purpose.

Ingredient questions.

Where can I find the full ingredient list?+

In full, in Know what's inside above: twenty ingredients in the cleanser, twenty-seven in the day cream, thirty-three in the night cream, each in order. The head of each list also appears on its product page.

What is an INCI name?+

The International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients: a standardised naming system used on packaging worldwide, so the same material carries the same name everywhere. "Aqua" is water; "Pisum sativum albumin" is pea albumin protein. It is a naming convention, not a rating.

Why does Le Pois use pea protein?+

Because it is the protein Le Pois was built around, and the reason the company is named after the pea. It is used in all three formulas.

Can I use Le Pois if I have sensitive skin?+

All three products are fragrance-free and suited to all skin types as formulated. We cannot assess an individual skin condition or an interaction with something else you use. Read the ingredient list, and ask a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

How do I know whether a product contains a specific ingredient?+

Search the library above, or select a product to see its published ingredients. If what you are looking for is not listed, ask us.
